Early Treatment

Age 7 is a year to remember.  Children sometimes exhibit early signs of jaw problems as they grow and develop.  A child’s smile contributes to their success and well being.  Early treatment screening by age 7 can lead to a better smile and less invasive procedures later.

The goal of early treatment, also known as “Phase One”, is to correct significant differences between upper and lower jaws and to create sufficient space to accommodate the eruption of permanent teeth.  Leaving such a condition untreated could result in extraction of permanent teeth or a jaw discrepancy that cannot be corrected with braces alone.

Adolescents

Although screening is recommended by age 7, not all patients require treatment at this time. If it is not recommended we will continue to monitor your child periodically, at no cost to you, to determine the most advantageous time to begin.

You will find that your child’s treatment will not interfere with their extra-curricular activities such as sports, band and choir.  We provide everything needed for adjusting to their new smile.

Adults

Orthodontic treatment can be successful at any age. In fact, one of every five patients is over 21. This trend is expected to continue, as adults become increasingly aware of the benefits of modern orthodontics.  Some of the benefits include improved self-confidence, a beautiful smile and healthier teeth and gums. New advances allow us to provide several treatment options such as metal or clear braces and the Invisalign system. We want our adult patients to feel as comfortable as possible so we offer individual rooms for the diagnosis and treatment of their needs. It’s never to late to improve your greatest asset…your smile!

Oral Surgery

Our surgeons specialize in the removal of wisdom teeth.  Wisdom teeth are not necessary for good oral health.  If they are impacted or causing pain you will probably need them removed. If they are not removed, they may damage nearby teeth, become infected, decay, develop tumors or other teeth may be crowded out of position.  Your comfort is very important: therefore our physicians are highly trained in IV sedation or “twilight sleep”.  If orthognathic (jaw) surgery is necessary, a hospital setting will be provided.  Our surgeons are on staff at various DFW hospitals.
